Advice, support and help when you need it at work
We have a network of trained local stewards and advisers who will provide you with help at work over such things as:
- Bullying and harassment
- Queries about service conditions and salaries
- Many other issues that may arise in the workplace
Legal services for you
Our legal support includes free help with many of the potential work problems you may have.
We also offer free initial legal advice on many non-workplace matters for you and your family including a free Will Service.
Debt advice and financial assistance
Our confidential service (which is a registered charity) There For You is a safety net when times get tough. We can help with sorting out finances and advise you on benefits. In some circumstances this service can offer grants to help with household bills, ease debts or help with the cost of a much needed break.
If the unexpected happens and you have an accident or are injured at work our specialist lawyers can assess and help when appropriate. You are covered for things like assault, accidents at work, accidents on your way to and from work, and industrial diseases. Unison has been very successful in obtaining compensation for many members who have suffered these sorts of problems.
There are many discounts which you can get as a Unison member. These include: -
- Savings on holidays through Unison Travel Club
- Discounts on home, car, pet and travel insurance
- Free personal accident and accidental death insurance, life cover and income protection
- Cash backs on mortgages
